Dr. Kurkijarvi is a Director of Paratek Pharmaceuticals. He is
also Chairman and CEO of Biketex Ltd and is Founder, Senior
Partner, and Chairman of Bio Fund Management Oy Ltd., a company
managing venture capital funds specialized in biotechnology.
Previously he worked for Sitra as Director of Chemistry and
Biotechnology from 1994 to 1997. From 1983 to 1994, Dr. Kurkijarvi
held a series of positions with increasing responsibilities at
Pharmacia (Wallac Ltd.), including serving as President of
Pharmacia Diagnostic Products Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of
Pharmacia. Dr. Kurkijarvi serves as a member of the Board of
Directors for the following companies: FibroGen Inc., HyTest Ltd.,
Pribori Ltd., AboaTech Ltd., Hormos Medical Ltd., Innomedica Ltd,
ContAl Clinics Oy, ContrAl Pharma Oy, Juvantia Pharma Ltd., A+
Science Invest AB, EuroGene Ltd. He serves as the Chairman of the
Board for MAP Medical Ltd., Bio Orbit Ltd, Abmin Technologies Ltd.,
FibroGen Europe Ltd., Rados Technology Ltd., and BioTie Therapies
Ltd.
