Paratek has chosen a two-pronged strategy for commercializing its novel derived products. The first prong of Paratek's strategy, aimed at the largest product markets, is to develop partnerships with established pharmaceutical and biotechnology partners that have the capability and substantial infrastructure to most successfully market products to thousands of hospital and physicians around the world. These partners would help guide clinical development efforts and interactions with regulatory agencies and would share a significant portion of the expenses associated with pharmaceutical development and commercialization. The second prong of Paratek's commercialization strategy is to retain rights to commercialize on its own or through co-marketing arrangements the anti-infective products aimed at markets that the company can approach with a sharply focused development and marketing effort.
