PRODUCT PIPELINE

Paratek has focused its technology platforms on identifying and developing multiple products in three major therapeutic areas:

  • TET Program
  • ·TET Antibacterials - Paratek is applying its chemistry and expertise in anti-infectives to create new classes and next generation antibiotics that overcome multi-drug resistance. Paratek’s two most advanced antibiotic products are derived from this technology.

·Non-Antibacterial Tetracyclines - Recent discoveries at Paratek and elsewhere have led to new applications for Paratek's extensive collection of novel drug classes derived from the tetracycline family that may be used to treat inflammatory and neurodegenerative conditions. These opportunities have become an increasing research focus of Paratek.

  • MAR Program

Addressing discoveries in bacterial genomics, Paratek has identified small molecules that inhibit the MAR (multiple adaptational response) locus in E. coli and other bacteria. This locus controls a bacterium's ability to cause infection and develop resistance to antibiotics. The discovery of Mar inhibitors introduces a new paradigm for the treatment of infectious diseases. These drugs will act to prevent life-threatening and debilitating infections before they develop into an infection. MAR inhibitors will not kill bacteria or inhibit their growth, and they may be less likely to foster bacterial resistance.
